Recently, some smart people at Harvard School of Public Health studied the effects of diet on fertility, including the effect of the types and relative proportion of fats eaten.
The details: The fat intake of 147 women, who were: 1) mostly in their 30s and 2 ) undergoing IVF treatment. They found that women who ate the highest amounts of monounsaturated fat (typically eaten as part of the Mediterranean diet, which often includes olive oil, sunflower oil, nuts and seeds) were 3.4 times more likely to have a child after IVF compared to those who ate the lowest amounts.
I am not suggesting to do IVF (as I believe in conceiving naturally) but this benefit ought to be apply to doing it “the old fashioned way” too!
Avocado toast, anyone? Seed cycling? Sure, why not? Almond butter in your smoothie? Yes! 😉
